Kovan Heartland Mall and Surrounding Upgrades?

Hi,

Can't help but notice that with the new condos in the area, the Heartland Mall and vicinity has become very crowded over the years. With more condos coming up soon, the neighbourhood will definitely get more crowded.

Are there any upgrade plans for the Heartland Mall or the row of shop houses (Punggol Nasi Lemak etc..) in the pipeline? Are there plans to upgrade the walkways and pathways along the stretch of Upp Serangoon Road? What about plans to ease the morning traffic situation?

I fully agreed with ethancsk regarding finding out the upgrading plan for Heartland Mall and those along the road. If I am not wrong, the heartland Mall had been at present state for more than 15 years. :( It is time to bulid a bigger shopping with a library and cinema in it for the young families who are staying in Kovan Melody and upcoming Kovan Residence condomium. May be a underground car park can be build like in Bishan juntion 8. This is specially helpful when there is raining. Rain shelter can also be build over the carpark area outside the Mall.
I think we need to look into this as there are already new development at hougang MRT ( A new NTUC fairprice is build there) and at Serangoon MRT there will be big Shopping MAll coming up as it is the new interchange.
Looking forward to the Alijunied GRC to share their ideas and plans.
