Many single like myself would like to own my own flat where we could called it HOME instead of living with siblings or even with parents. Many of us do have our own reasons why we need our own place.
Even under the HDB regulation, any single above 35 years of age could buy a resales flat from the open market but the price of resale flat is expensive and loan need to be obtained.
With the current economy crisis, having a job and keeping a job is getting tougher and let alone service a large mortgage loan alone!
On average, a resales flat could cost anything between 160-185k for a 3 rooms flat whereas the new flat would cost at least 40-50k lesser. Being single like myself who has contributed substainly to the economy for many years would humbly pledge with my MP to speaks up for the voice of many single like myself and grant us the equal opportunity to buy a new flat like many which is lesser in cost.
Sigh! being single is not a choice these days is becoming a reality as many of our local men choose to marry foreign brides! |
