is a joint project by Paya Lebar Citizens' Consultative Committee and Bethesda C.A.R.E. This project aims to create awareness of the importance of regular health checks. We will provide free door-to-door health checks for senior citizens who reside in the Paya Lebar division, as well as reaching out to residents to understand their needs and concerns through a survey that will be conducted at the same time.
What will it do for me and my family?
This project will benefit residents who are aged 50 years and above.
These health checks will be done up to 4 times a year.
The health checks involves the two important vital statistics that doctors use to assess the immediate health of a person's heart: blood pressure and pulse.
As these health check results will also be made accessible through eHealthCheck on this website, residents are now able to keep a health history that is available to both their doctors and family.
Do you know?
Heart disease and stroke is the world's largest killer, claiming 17.5 million lives a year.
Many Singaporeans remain susceptible to heart diseases where 22% of deaths last year were due to heart-related illness, which is the second highest cause of deaths, after cancer.
Monitoring a person's blood pressure will supplement the doctor's readings and provide a more accurate and complete blood pressure history.
Under this Seniors' Health Support Programme, our Health Ambassadors will collect your medical information and save them onto a computer database. You will be given a password to access this information as and when you need to. During the house visit, our Health Ambassadors will also carry out a simple survey to collate information to help us better understand your needs. We look forward to your support for this survey by sharing with us your views.
Please note that all our Health Ambassadors are issued with a special Photo Identification Card. Do ask for their IDs before allowing them to enter your premises. If you have any queries, kindly contact Paya Lebar Kovan Community Club at tel: 6284 4261, or your Residents' Committee members.
